workin' again finally!

Hello Everyone,
Well, it's been a loooooong time (last October) since I updated this blog.  Boy, a lot has happened since then... unfortunately not a whole lot on the house.  But I will give you a quick run down and get you up-to-date on the important stuff :)


The deck has been completely removed and is now being reinstalled.  It was removed because the deck is 37 x 16 ft... IT'S HUGE!... and there were five supports!  Yep, you heard it five... not enough to say the least.  So needless to say the deck was out of level and definitely unsafe. 

Here, all of the decking is off and stacked, ready to level up and secure the structure.  We nailed off every board, leveled the entire structure, and installed many more braces.  This is a student of mine, Matt, who does construction work on the side while he's getting his teaching degree. 

And now, I am putting the decking back on.  I'll give you a few shots here, but I'm not finished.  I'll post the finished deck on my next post. 

Other than that, not much has happened with the house.  I did have a clean up day inside.  This is one of my favorite students, Patrick (Roll Tide!), who came out and helped me.  (Yes, I said favorite!  I have a few!) :o)

We have also had a few bonfires out on the property and have had a lot of fun!
